Can we help?

If you are:

• aged 60 plus
• live in SE5, SE15 SE17, SE21, SE22, SE23, SE24 and roads in the London Borough of Southwark in SE11
• are isolated and / or lonely

We can offer the following services to you:

Befriending

A visit from a volunteer once a week for an hour or two for a chat and some company in the older person’s own home.

Light Gardening

Our gardening volunteers can make a visit up to twice a year to cut a lawn, do light weeding and general tidying.

Practical Tasks

We can provide a volunteer to escort an older person on local shopping trips, helping hang curtains, washing windows and reading mail.

Please note that we do not provide any type of personal care, cleaning or shopping.

Our services are available to those who are particularly vulnerable and/or isolated. We receive referrals from social workers, health professionals, families and people can also self-refer. Our staff will then visit the person to assess whether our service is suitable and answer any questions they may have.

All services are provided by volunteers which means that for all services (excluding some social groups), there is usually a waiting list.
